This website is about running and yoga, but ‘longrunergy‘ is about ‘the long run lifestyle’ and how we can work towards staying happy and healthy for more than a few days, weeks or months, but for the long run.
Yoga and running are both free and accessible forms of exercise that enable us to live creatively and energetically – we believe they are the dynamic duo that enable us to build strength, health and overall fitness for whatever comes our way.
The creation of longrunergy is also about giving something back to our support system, the environment that sustains us.
Within the pages of this website are ideas and suggestions for ways to cultivate a long term approach to living, helping us all to create our own long run lifestyles.

About the Founder: Susie
I started running at the age of 11. Luckily, I loved running and it seemed to like me. As an undergraduate student at Newcastle University in England I discovered yoga – and basically have been doing a mixture of the two ever since. I spent two great years as a graduate student at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff from 2000-2002, running competitively with the D1 cross-country and track programmes, but then took a few years off from serious running to travel and work. In 2008/9 I studied with the British Wheel of Yoga in England but it wasn’t until 2011, when I started a blog about yoga and running whilst marathon training, that ‘longrunergy’ began to take shape. In 2012 I took my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training certificate in the US with the Aura Wellness Center, after relocating to Arizona. This website is where I now share a few insights from the world of running and yoga, which combined have helped me to learn, meet incredible people and travel to Hawaii where I am now based with my husband.
