Podcast Episode #11 Jo-Anna Syverson
Today’s podcast interview features marathon runner Jo-Anna Syverson, who moved to Hawaii in 2012 with her husband, two dogs, and a cockatiel. Jo-Anna is originally from Northern Virginia and currently works as a Project Manager in healthcare but as an avid runner has completed seven marathons to date. Outside running, Jo-Anna loves to travel, take adventures, and spend time with her husband and dogs on the beach. Jo-Anna first started running in high school as a member of the cross country team but slowly started adding the miles, just to see how far she could run! This of course led Jo-Anna to the marathon, and even to an ultra – J0-Anna finished her first 50km in 2013. Most recently Jo-Anna ran both the Chicago and New York City marathons as a member of TEAM PAWS, a charity who focus on finding new homes for rescued animals, working hard to create a ‘No Kill’ community. Jo-Anna has so far raised over $3,000 and is still going strong – read more about the great work of the charity and Jo-Anna’s efforts here: Jo-Anna’s fundraising page.
