Podcast Episode #10 Katie O’Neil
Today the podcast talks to marathon runner Katie O’Neil. Hailing from Idaho by way of California and Boston, Katie moved to Hawaii two years ago. When Katie was living in Boston, she lived one block from the marathon finish line. Watching the stream of finishers each year inspired Katie to try and qualify, which she did, and Katie ran her first marathon on the historical Boston course in April 2012. Since then Katie has logged a number of marathons including most recently New York, where she ran a PR of 2:58:17.
Currently working as a teacher and coach Katie juggles a number of responsibilities and passions outside her life as a runner but will still be running the Honolulu marathon on Dec 14th. In today’s interview we talk about Katie’s experience in New York and how to prepare for the demands of marathon running in Hawaii.
