Welcome to a new series of podcast interviews, which will all be related to marathon running, and more specifically the Honolulu Marathon. But wait – even if you don’t consider yourself to be a ‘marathon runner’ – maybe you’ve been thinking about it and just need to hear a few words of advice from a seasoned athlete, or maybe you know someone running the marathon this year! The goal of the following few podcasts is to provide short snippets of information from people who have been out there and done it – completed the distance – and are now happy to share their stories with you.
Podcast Episode #8: Melanie Koehl
The first interview in the marathon series features Melanie Koehl, an Oahu resident with a long line of triathlons, road and trail races, and even an ‘adventure race’ (in Brazil!) under her belt. As a busy Mom of three young children, Mel balances her love for running with graphic design work and managing the online store, Little Sprouts. Mel is also a founding member of the Soul Runners Hawaii Facebook group, but more about that in the interview!
